PENSION WEBSITE LAUNCH

The long awaited link of the new web-based personnel tracking system for The Police Retirement System of St. Louis is scheduled was activated on 9/4/12.  When accessing the website at http://www.stlouisprs.org/ you will be asked to enroll in the new system.  You will choose your own username and password, just as you do for any website.  Once chosen, along with your challenge questions, you will have total access to the benefit calculator, your DROP account and your Member Account (Lump Sum).

The office staff will no longer be able to issue new access codes nor retrieve old/forgotten codes, as that will be done with the webmaster.

Business Manager says POA is more suited to explore pension reform
Updated On: Jun 165, 2012

Attached is a letter from the Police Officer's Association (POA) Business Manager, Jeff Roorda, indicating that the POA wants more involvement in pension legislation and reserves the right to exercise "our political influence with the General Assembly for the purpose of advancing the interests of our membership."  Since the Police Retirement System (PRS) represents EVERY commissioned and retired member of the Police Department and the POA does not, it's interesting to see that they (along with the mayor) want so much control over the pension system.

Read the letter and decide for yourself how much control you'd like to see the POA and its business manager have over YOUR pension benefits.
